Jasper 03:51

Two of my paths diverged in wood
I took the one less travelled by
Thought that it would
Stiffen up my shoes

But I used up all my arrows
Shooting down the sparrows That I thought were only cherubs
Sent from you

 Back before the dawn
Still I just kept moving on
I don’t know what Pursued me on my way

But the western sky grew dim
The further that I reached for it The farther that it seemed To stretch away

But I’m gonna go down to Jasper To see just what comes after
All this pain
When I get down to the water I know that I’ll be cleaner once again That’s why I just have to go my friend

So i read the dead sea scrolls
Talked to all the animals And I read up every sign Along the way
They didn’t say too much
The legends I have heard enough
I thought that they could never Change my fate

But I’m gonna go down to Jasper
To see just what comes after
 All this pain
When I get down to the water I know that I’ll be cleaner once again
That’s why I just have to go my friend

I know that there’s no sign
No preaching past or peace of mind
That ever could relieve me all my days The desert’s made of sands
The sky it tries with feeble hands To hold onto the wind that slips away

But I’m gonna go down to Jasper To see just what comes after All this pain
When i get down to the water I know that I’ll be cleaner once again

Two of my paths diverged in wood I took the one less travelled by
 Thought that it would
Stiffen up my shoes

Crawl beneath the underpass Wade into a place to find a dream
Follow me you know you see No one’s face but no, it ain’t me
 Babe it ain’t me

When you’re crawling on my knees To find the place you know
 It’s somewhere in your sleep
But you go those places that you know
Could never be, except for where it seems You tell me

 But I found a light
 One day you might
But I found a light One day you might
 Now you see, in me
 The darkest light

Fought to find the oceanside
Stumble from a place you can’t hide See you stare from miles away
Sitting on the stairs while you stay

When you’re crawling on your knees To find the place you know it’s somewhere
 in your sleep
Well that wind is gonna wind up
Cloud your mind and hole up all the things inside
 That you hide

 But I found a light
 One day you might
But I found a light One day you might Now you see in me
Oh you see clearly
What don’t you find?

 And you walk
In that field where we used to lay
 "Come back to me now”
I heard you say
And I found a light and now I know To burn away
Every trace of what you call “someday”

Family Tree 03:51
This family tree Is rotten inside of me All those names on the wall That just don't relate to me No depression don't run It limps in my family And ever since I've been backing away So slowly Boy where did you get it from Boy where did you get it from me? You better watch your mouth Where did you learn those words you speak In this house, under my roof You take after me This family tree Has taken a hold on me Passed down, I'm passed out Branching out to the fallen leaves Boy where did you get it from Boy where did you get it from me? You better watch your mouth Where did you learn those words you speak In this house, under my roof You take after me I guess that one apple Could spoil the bunch I was bobbing with my head While all you did was watch When i picked it from the tree I think that it picked me So when I carved in my initials The roots were too deep to see After me, after me I guess you take

Roadside 07:40
It's not what it looks like No it's not what you think You had too much drive And not enough to drink It's not what you asked for No it's not even close You just take off your head And you sleep in your clothes You got the right to remain silent Now, speak for yourself When you say I'm heaven sent but you're just Giving me hell Well on the roadside sign Walk that fine line In my cuffs holding hand in hand You say forget it, it's fine It's my crime It's for your own good They gave you a chance And you bought yourself time With a bedroom advance And will they put you away When they sentence me to life But if you don't get out (once in a while) How will you survive You got your right to one call Well if you recall what I said When I read your basic rights And you screamed, then go ahead You made appeals The jury's out on this one But on a trial basis You'd rather be on the run It's my crime You're on your best behaviour You might as well go free You couldn't stomach your pride So i swallowed the key You did 50 to life But that's nothing to me Are you still in your chains? That you wore for me You do your time But love's a petty thief You get charged But it's my crime
